GITH are pleased to announce some fantastic Gozo Businesses and initiatives organising cleanups throughout July and there are four events that you can join.
GOZO SEGWAY TOURS LAND CLEANUP
SATURDAY 4TH JULY
MEET AT IL GIRNA RESTAURANT (BY TA CENC, SANNAT)
Gozo Segway Tours are offering to cover more ground via their eco-friendly Segway or E-Bikes on a cleanup tour from Ta Cenc. Each participant will be given a rubbish bag and gloves and you will stop at several pre-designated locations to collect rubbish from the area. Meet at Ta Cenc on Saturday 4th July at 5pm.

GLOBE Malta, Nature Trust – FEE Malta and EkoSkola Malta
WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY
MEET AT RAMLA BEACH
GLOBE Malta, Nature Trust – FEE Malta EkoSkola Malta and Gozo In The House team up to try and get Ramla Bay a Blue Flag beach where Nature Trust is also monitoring and protecting a loggerhead turtle nest, keeping the beach free of litter especially small plastic bits. Everybody is welcome.
Bring your own reusable gloves, a small bucket to put litter pieces in and water to drink of course. Bringing a spade will help. Looking forward to seeing a lot of volunteers, of all ages, taking up this great challenge. Can we get the sand in Ramla clean and plastic free?

Kayak Gozo SHORELINE CLEANUP
7th July 2020
Join Kayak Gozo for a coastal cleanup. Using sit on top kayaks you can get to areas of our shoreline which cannot easily be cleaned from the land. Help them do their bit to protect our environment and pristine islands. Location of cleanup and meeting point to be announced on Monday 6 July based on weather conditions via their Facebook page. RITUAL DIVE LAND AND SEA CLEANUP
saturday 11TH JULY
MEET AT independence square
Ritual Dive’s next Eco Day has been locked in for the 11th July. The aim is to clean up our tiny island both above and below the water one town and dive site at a time. Here’s the plan for the day:
- 10AM: Victoria – Xlendi Land Clean-Up (Meet up in Independence Square)
- 12:30PM Break: Soft Drink +Pizza @ Front Bar in Xlendi
- 2PM: Xlendi Land Clean-Up + Bay Clean-Up Dive
- 5PM Drinks – Free Pint of Cisk/Excel to everyone who takes part
Become part of the ritual! Join the land cleanup plus they are offering free tanks/equipment to any certified divers who are Advanced Open Water level or above to take part in the dive. Call +356 79260259 to take part and look out for the event on their Facebook Page.
