Geri Mc is back with a fantastic tutorial on making smoothing exfoliating scrubs from ingredients found in your kitchen cupboards.
We introduced Geri a few weeks back when she showed us how to do an ‘at-home’ colon massage for your upset tummy. Today she turns a bag of sugar into a nourishing bath time treatment and also uses a banana, avocado a lemon and more. It’s jammed with top tips so sit back and enjoy and get the kids involved mixing up these simple beauty treats later!
Easy to make at home, these delicious body scrubs use seasonal fruits to enhance the overall condition and look of your skin. Of course, as we all know sugar is not good for us, but used in body scrubs it encourages and draws moisture to the surface of the skin.
Whilst showering, take a small amount of the scrub and apply to the body using circular movements. Gently does it, as rubbing vigorously can cause irritation. Another top tip is to use white sugar for the body and brown sugar for the face.
Whether you are a beginner or you may have just got out of the habit, now is time to start adding this simple technique into your weekly routine to get beach-ready. Start with twice a week for two weeks then once a week thereafter. If you can commit, you will be so impressed by the silky velvet feel of your skin and you will wonder why you have not done this before.
Whist exfoliation helps with desquamation (in other words, shedding of the skin), you will now benefit even more, from using body lotion which you apply straight after.
Good luck everyone and please watch the video for instructions.
